Why Drupal is great

I like the ease in which you can add new features in a controlled manner. If they don't work, the change can be reversed easily. Because all the formatting is done at the point of presentation (not when the content is submitted), it means that the original content is still there, all the time. Based on this, you can change the site around without any major fears.

Additional features are added in contributed modules.

The upgrade to adding Google Analytics serves as a great example. It took longer to sign up to Google Anayltics than it did to add the code to every page of this website. Seriously. Signing up to Google involved signing up with my account, going through adding the name of the website, some contact data and agreeing to the Terms and Conditions.

To add the relevant code to the website, I followed the instructions on installing modules. On Drupal, a quick search on Drupal, finding the right module, download the module, put it on the host site, expand into the relevant directory. Into Drupal admin to enable the module, enter my code from Google and it's up and running. It was actually quicker to do the Drupal part than the Google part.
